Obituary

Obituary for Jean F. Fox (Etter)

Jean F. Fox, 92, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Born October 26, 1927 in Fort McCord, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Hockersmith Etter. Early in her life she was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot. She went on to work at the former J. Schoeneman Company in Chambersburg for nearly 48 years prior to her retirement. After retiring she worked for 10 years as a coffee hostess at Sheetz on Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg and delivered newspapers. She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church. Mrs. Fox enjoyed Bingo and watching game shows, especially Family Feud. She was a fan of several professional football teams and hoped to be able to watch a Super Bowl played by both Pennsylvania teams. She was also a fan of the Washington Capitals hockey team.

She is survived by three daughters, Trudy Cooley of Chambersburg, Kathy Kayhoe (Ronald) of Waynesboro, and Brenda Greenawalt (John McFadden) of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Tina Edgar, Eric Greenawalt, Jamie Kayhoe, David Cooley, II, Rennis Fox, Jr., and Colby Cooley; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and her niece, Stacie Baughman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rennis Fox, Sr. in July of 2008; her sister, Mary Ellen Baughman in September of 2019, and her brother, Paul Etter, who was killed in WWII in March of 1945.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and chaplains at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Jean.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to King Street United Brethren Church, 56 North Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
