Obituary

Dale W. Cook, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD. Born June 19, 1935 in Dillsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Oliver W. Cook and Dorothy M. (Cocklin) Cook.

A 1953 graduate of Dillsburg High School, Dale then was employed as a manager at the former Wayne Feed Store in Chambersburg for 35 years, and then as a salesman for 17 years at the former Clugston Ag & Turf. He was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren for over 50 years. He enjoyed camping, square dancing and gospel music. He loved watching baseball, football and Nascar races with his sons.

Dale is survived by his wife of 67 years, Norma Jean (Orner) Cook, whom he married on February 26, 1953; two sons, Dale Ronald “Ron” Cook and wife Gwen, of Chambersburg, and Darryl Rodney Cook and wife Jeannie, both of Chambersburg; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren (soon to be nine); and three sisters, Marian, Martha, and Barbara. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, W. Eugene Cook and Donald L. Cook.

The family will receive friends at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
