Obituary for Betty A. Boyer (Culbertson)

Betty A. Boyer, age 98, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Abingdon, MD. Born June 2, 1920, in Scotland, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl H. and Susie A. Plum Culbertson.
A devout Christian, Mrs. Boyer was a lifelong member of Scotland United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday School for over 40 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy J. Garner (husband David) of Pottstown, PA and Donna M. Peck (husband William) of Abingdon, MD and five grandchildren, Bethany A. Peck, Michelle A. Peck, Stephen J. Peck (wife Taylor Rae), Heidi J. Boyer, and Tina M. Boyer (husband Adam Smith). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, George W. Boyer on March 25, 2000, whom she married in 1942; two children, Terry L. Boyer and Brenda S. Boyer; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 12 noon in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. James Fox will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Scotland United Methodist Church, Scotland, PA.
