Obituary for William E. "Bill" Rollins Jr.

William E. “Bill” Rollins, Jr., 83, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at SpiriTrust, The Village at Sprenkle Drive. Born October 19, 1937 in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late William E. Rollins, Sr., and Dorothy Hatton Rollins Owens.

Bill was a graduate of Suitland High School in Suitland, MD. He served honorably in The US Air Force from 1957 to 1960. A skilled tradesman, He was employed as a, plumber, electrician and most recently an HVAC service technician and specialist until his retirement. Following his retirement, Bill worked for his son, Timothy at Colonial Sash and Door, Inc. He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Orrtanna, PA and the Knights of Columbus 14035 Council where he was a 4th Degree Knight. He was the first Grand Knight at Knights of Columbus 11715 Council in Maryland. Bill enjoyed traveling, camping, and woodworking. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the antics and interactions with his grandchildren and great grandchildren

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen M. Rollins, whom he married on June 17, 1961; four children, Timothy W. Rollins of Frederick, MD, Christopher W. Rollins and wife Virginia of Thurmont, MD, Dianne Shenberger and husband Dustin of Mercersburg, PA, and William J. Rollins of Denver, CO; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
