Wayne H. Benedict, 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, December 6, 2022 at his home. Born April 18, 1935 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Glenn and Pearl Helman Benedict. Early in his life Wayne drove a truck for Dairy Maid and he later retired from Horn’s Motor Express. He was member of the Cumberland Valley Carving Club and the Franklin County Cyclists; and a former member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, AmVets Post 224, and the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed spending time carving and bicycling. His wife, Donna L. Schuchman Benedict, whom he married September 1, 1956, preceded him in death on February 15, 2020.

He is survived by a son, Rick W. Benedict and companion Jackie Kimple of Orrtanna; a daughter, Amy R. Benedict of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Casey Kimple, Brittney Arcq, Nichole Boland, and Tia McGinnis; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Rhyann. He is also survived by five brothers, Lee, Fred, Ezra “Mickey”, Ray, and Nelson Benedict; and three sisters, Ruth Sommerville, Margaret Diller, and Ruby Wolf. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Kurt M. Benedict; a great-grandson, Jimmy Arcq; two brothers, Glenn Benedict, Jr. and Max Benedict; and a sister, Judy McKenzie.
