Deepest sympathy to the family of Elwood. I knew Elwood from working at Corning and World Kitchen; he was one of those friendly guys who was always eager to give helpful information when asked, without the feeling you were a bother to him.
Sincerely, Jeannie Blubaugh

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Elwood Matthews. Elwood and I played on the same basketball team at Chuckatuck High. Actually, I played on the same teams as all three Matthews brothers. Elwood and Martha were always a neat combination, and looking at family members one can tell that this carried on throughout. His "Woody" nickname must have come later as this was never known to me at Chuckatuck. Always calm and collected, always thoughtful, always a friend, the world needs more people like Elwood Matthews. So sorry, Martha. Sincerely, Jim Dailey, Suffolk, Virginia 23435
