Obituary for Tadd W. Snyder
Tadd W. Snyder, 79, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital with his family and friends by his side. Born February 2, 1944 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late David W. Snyder, Jr. and Minnie Mae Walck Snyder.
Tadd was employed as a forklift operator at Corning Glass for 30 years until his retirement. He also served as Union #1024 President for 18 years. Tadd was a member of Evangel Assembly of God in McConnellsburg. He enjoyed going to the Greencastle Senior Activity Center. An avid New York Yankees fan, he enjoyed watching baseball, westerns, hunting, and bowling with the Junior OUAM League.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn “Sally” Hann Snyder, whom he married on December 18, 1964; daughter, Patricia Edwards (husband James) of Chambersburg; three grandsons, Todd Nesbitt of Chambersburg, Logan Pepple of Greencastle, and Preston Pepple of Marion; and one sister, Betty Mellott of Chambersburg. Aside from his parents, Tadd was preceded in death by his daughter, Misti Jo Mansell in 2019; and two brothers, David W. Snyder III, and Robert Snyder.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. William H. McCommons and Mr. Andy Crider will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Spring Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greencastle Senior Activity Center, 10615 Antrim Church Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225.
