Sarah J. (Cover) Baker, 91, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 in her home. Born August 7, 1930 she was the daughter of the late John Lee and Thelma I. Cover.
She was a graduate of Shippensburg High School, Shippensburg, PA. Sarah was primarily a homemaker and she also babysat for a number of years. She was a member of Fetterhoff Chapel United Methodist Church and an active member of United Methodist Women holding many different offices and serving on a multitude of different boards. Sarah enjoyed reading, painting and flowers.
She is survived by two children, Rhonda R. Bolinger and Clifford D. Baker (wife Lori), all of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Alan D. Bolinger, Cory A. Baker, and Zachery A. Baker; four siblings, Vada L. Wetzel of Carlisle, PA, Ruth I. Cover of Newville, PA, Brenda Hockenberry of Shippensburg, PA and John L. Cover of Newburg, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas H. “Bud” Baker who passed away December 17, 2014 and her brother, Lee A. Cover.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 5, 2022 in Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Matthew Plant officiating. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
