Obituary for Sandra R. Conrad (Rodgers)

Sandra R. Conrad, 73, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center. Born October 16, 1947 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Betty Jane Lohman Rodgers.

Sandra was a 1965 graduate of Waynesboro High School. She earned her LPN degree in 1977 and was employed at the former Luther Ridge Retirement Community until her retirement in 2010 after 23 years of service. She was a faithful member of the former Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church, now Mission Hill Church in Chambersburg. In her retirement, Sandra enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army, the Village at Luther Ridge, the Elderberry Group at her church and various other church activities. She devoted her life to her family and especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many fond memories were made around the campfire.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Allen R. Conrad, whom she married on June 13, 1965; three children, Angie Bender (Steve) of Shippensburg, David Conrad (Pamela) of Wellsville, and Julia Bowers (Gary) of Hanover; seven grandchildren, Kristi Davis (Ricky) of Shippensburg, Sara Shank (Ben) of Shippensburg, Amanda Geiman (Matthew) of Lewisberry, Adam Hagans (Jamie) of St. Thomas, Nathan Bowers (Shelby) of Waynesboro, Nicholas Bowers of Littlestown, and Hannah Bowers of Hanover; eleven great grandchildren, Madison, Brandon and Justin Davis, Jacob, Emmalee and Abigail Shank, Noah, Grace, Mason and Charlotte Geiman, and Johnston Hagans; and her brother, Andrew Rodgers (Anne Marie) of State College.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Mission Hill Church, 465 Center St., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Pastor Joel Gillman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
