Obituary for Ronald L. Adams Jr.

Ronald L. Adams, Jr., 76, of Chambersburg, PA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 2, 1946 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Ronald L. Adams, Sr. and Verna Doutrich Adams. Ron was a 1964 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and he served honorably with the United States Army. He was employed as a Manager at TB Wood’s Sons, Inc. in Chambersburg, moving to their electronics division, Ultracon, in 1974 where he served as Plant Manager until 1993. He then went to work at Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, retiring as Director of Supply Chain and Logistics in 2012. Following his retirement from Martin’s he worked as a consultant for several businesses. Ron had a passion for utilizing his knowledge and skills to assist small businesses become successful.
He was an active member of LifePoint Church in Chambersburg where he served in many capacities including the Directional Team and Leadership Team. He led Bible Study, Life Group, and taught Sunday school for many years. He also enjoyed serving as a Biblical Citizenship teacher. Ron loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He coached basketball and baseball and enjoyed time spent coaching his sons and his grandson. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, and spending time at the beach.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen S. Mills Adams, whom he married September 7, 1969; three sons, Kevin C. Adams and wife Laura of Chambersburg, Ryan M. Adams and wife Penny of Chambersburg, and Shaun T. Adams and wife Tiffany of Shipman, VA; four grandchildren, Logan, Jacob, Ruby, and Levi; his sister, Sandy Pogue of Chambersburg; his step-mother, Virginia Adams of Fayetteville; and his step-sister, Yvonne Sue Kuhn of Fayetteville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Lippy.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at LifePoint Church, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Randy Rhodes officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Private interment, prior to the service, will be at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
