Obituary for Robert Vance Woody
Robert V. “Bob” Woody, 56, of Chambersburg, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 in his home. Born on May 3, 1964 in Have de Grace, MD, he was a son of Billy J. Woody and Shelby “Jean” Love Woody of Spruce Pine, NC.
Bob graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and served in the U.S. Army from 1983 – 1991 including Operation Desert Storm. He worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as a Contracting Officer, most recently at Letterkenny Army Depot. His interests over the years included horse-judging, fishing, riding his Harley-Davidsons and flying.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Kugler Woody, whom he married on May 24, 2007; brother, Rodney (Angie) Woody of Conover, NC; sister, Roxanne (Augie) Morello of Dover, PA; Uncle & Aunt, Carl & Doris Johnson of Stewartstown, PA; two daughters, Sina and Dana, and two grandchildren, Marvin and Amelie, all of Germany. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vicky Woody of Spruce Pine, NC.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 4, in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road Chambersburg. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, December 10th in Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC, with graveside military honors conducted by the NCNG Military Funeral Detail. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West Chambersburg, PA 17201.
