Obituary for Raymond J. Berger Jr.
Raymond J. “Ray” Berger, Jr., 39, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 10, 1982 in Akron, OH he was the son of Raymond J. Berger Sr. and Kimberly (Brimstone) Berger of Akron.
He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Christian Academy, Cuyahoga Falls, OH with the Class of 2000. Ray then went on to obtain his bachelor degree in psychology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Mount Vernon, OH with the Class of 2004. He was employed as a direct care service provider for Person Directed Supports, Chambersburg. Ray enjoyed reading and playing games with his family. He was currently teaching himself how to speak Russian.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Katie R. (Jaymes) Berger; three children, Rebecca, Abby and Ethan all at home; three siblings, Megan Robinson (Matthew) of Tallmadge, OH, Katie Berger and Destiny Berger both of Akron, OH; and his maternal grandmother, Nancy Macdonald.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, January 14, 2022 in Mission Hill Church, 465 Center Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Joel Gillman officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 and one hour prior to the service Friday morning in the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shalom Christian Academy, 126 Social Island Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with “Memorial Gift for Ray” in the memo line.
