Obituary for Ray E. Burkholder

Ray E. Burkholder, 68, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born August 30, 1954 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late John Burkholder, Sr. and Dorothy (Yocum) Burkholder.

He was a graduate of the James Buchanan High School with the Class of 1972. Ray was employed at TB Woods, Letterkenny Army Depot, and Ventura Foods all in the Chambersburg area. He retired from J & J Snack Works, Chambersburg. Ray was a member of the American Legion and Marine Corps both in Chambersburg. In his younger years he enjoyed attending concerts, participating in a bowling league, and going to NASCAR races which he continued to follow the rest of his life. Ray was part of a racing family attending races and working on cars alongside his brothers, son and nephew, Doug. He was also a diehard New England Patriots fan. Ray was a history and trivia buff with a thirst for knowledge.

Ray is survived by his son, Andrew L. Burkholder and his mother, Linda of Chambersburg; three siblings, John Burkholder, Jr., William Burkholder, and Shirley Iser; a number of nieces and nephews and his little buddy, Kuro.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
