Obituary for Noreen J. Selby

Noreen J. (Aylesworth) Selby of Waynesboro, PA, died on January 14, 2023 in the Chambersburg Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Noreen was born on October 24, 1967 in Chambersburg. She was the daughter of Nathalie (Poulson) and Glenn Aylesworth.

Noreen was a graduate of Chambersburg High School and Juniata College, where she earned a BS Degree in Psychology/Biology in 1989. She previously worked at Brook Lane Health Services as a Mental Health Associate, San Mar Children Home, Boonsboro, MD as a case manager, and Northwestern Human Services, MVC in Chambersburg as a Psychiatric Technician. She also worked at CitiCorp in Hagerstown, MD as a financial associate. Noreen was currently employed at M & T Bank in Waynesboro.

Noreen married Dwayne Selby of Chambersburg in 2004. They have one daughter, Mathilda Mae Selby. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, Noreen is survived by a sister, Sherrie Ray of Florida, a brother Scott Aylesworth and brother-in-law, Dr. Christian Burchill of Lancaster, a mother-in-law, Linda Jones of Chambersburg, and many cousins.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Noreen was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed analyzing animal behavior, especially the behavior of birds and raptors. When she was in high school, she attended a wildlife seminar at Wallops Island National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia. During college she volunteered at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center near State College, PA, participating in raptor rehabilitation. She enjoyed visiting such places as Hawk Mountain to observe the annual migration of hawks and other raptors. She was an experienced diver, having dived off the waters of the Florida Keys, and several Caribbean islands.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4:00 -5:00 PM to visit with the immediate family and share memories of Noreen.
