Obituary for Nancy Messina (Draovitch)
Nancy Draovitch Messina, age 95, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Friday, April 14, 2023. Born January 20, 1928, in St. Clair, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wassil and Pearl Ponchar Draovitch.
Mrs. Messina was a member of St. Mary Orthodox Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Makosky (husband Joseph) of Chambersburg, PA and Andrea Gubey (husband Vincent) of Soutport, NC and two siblings, Wassil Draovitch Jr. of Pottsville, PA and Ethel Daderko of Summit Hill, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Messina in 1998.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 2 PM at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 2063 LWE, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Fr. David Jacobs will celebrate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the above church. Interment will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., Chambersburg, PA.
