Obituary for Milton J. Crawford Jr.
Milton J. Crawford Jr., 85, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 in Menno Haven Healthcare Center. Born September 7, 1936 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late Milton J. Crawford, Sr. and Sarah (Coble) Crawford.
He was a graduate of Chambersburg High School with the Class of 1954. In his younger years he was employed in construction and for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Primarily, Milton was a fuel delivery driver and all-around handyman for McCleary Oil, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Edenville United Methodist Church and in his earlier years he attended Salem Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Edenville Ruritan. Milton loved to read and cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He loved his community and most of all his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judith E. (Shatzer) Crawford who he married January 1, 1958; six daughters, Sharon Campbell (Steven) of Chambersburg, Barbara Hager (Dale) of Greencastle, Janice McNew Black (Rodney) of Chambersburg, Christine Abbott of Chambersburg; Julee Moffitt (Timothy) of Florida and Carrie Cramer (Michael) Mercersburg, PA; twelve grandchildren, Andy, Jared, Eric, Samantha, Lauren, Sarah, Jesse, Emilee, Colton, Aleesha, Mason and Dalaynee; eight great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Martha Pilgrim and John Crawford (Carol) of Ohio. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Stonebraker.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2022 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Other services will be private at the convenience of the family.
