Obituary for Mary W. Etter (Mellott)
Mary W. (Mellott) Etter, 84, of Scotland, PA passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 in Brookview Nursing Center, Chambersburg. Born January 3, 1938 in Fulton County, PA she was the daughter of the late Ray and Letitia (Hill) Mellott.
She was a graduate of Green Hills High School with the Class of 1956. Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, going to yard sales and flea markets, and working on crossword puzzles. She was a member of Scotland United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children, Barbara J. Benedict (husband Scott) of Oregon, Darl L. Etter (wife Marie) of Grandy, NC, Alan O. Etter (wife Cindy) of Chambersburg, PA, and Melanie S. Paisley of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lynn D. Etter who passed away February 4, 2016 and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor William Smith officiating. Inurnment will follow in Norland Cemetery, Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning in the funeral home.
