Obituary for Martha Louise Short
Martha Louise (Olson) Short, 92, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 30, 1930 in Marshall County, Iowa she was the daughter of the late Tilman and Birdilla R. (Robertson) Olson.
In her younger years Martha worked with tuberculous patients at South Mountain Hospital. She later was employed as a presser at the Stanley Company, Chambersburg until her retirement. Martha was a long time Solider with the Salvation Army Corps where she attended church services and was part of the Golden Age Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela McKenrick (Christopher) and Kimberly Thomas (Gregory, Jr.) both of Chambersburg, PA; five grandchildren, Kristian Thomas, Gregory Thomas, III ( Kat), Derek Short, Leroy Martin and Josh McKenrick (Amanda); eight great-grandchildren; three siblings, George R. Olson (Maxine), Ronald L. Olson (Peg), and Ruth Ann Benner (Gary); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alexander Short; her son, Timothy Short; and three brothers, Tilman, Jr., James and Paul Olson.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Chambersburg Salvation Army, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to SpiriTrust Lutheran, Office of Philanthropy
