Obituary for Marlin R. Denlinger

Marlin R. Denlinger, 75, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 in ProMedica formerly ManorCare of Chambersburg where he had been a resident the last seven years. Born October 6, 1946 in Gap, PA he was the son of the late Roy D. and Verna (Hostetter) Denlinger.

He was a hardworking man who worked as a truck driver for various trucking companies in the area including Lurgan Leasing. Marlin grew up on a farm and worked in various farming and trucking positions throughout his career. He was a member of Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg.

Marlin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois A. (Meyers) Denlinger; four children, Michele Hainly and her husband Larry of Harrisburg, PA; Dana Denlinger and his wife Michelle of Orrstown, PA, Loretta Spry and her husband William of Rochester, NY, and Julie Eddy and her husband Michael of Newville, PA; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six siblings, Geraldine Frey husband Christian of Chambersburg, Ronald Denlinger wife Ruby of Maugansville, MD, Janice Bricker husband Dennis of Chambersburg, Suetta Grove husband Nevin of Greencastle, Darlene Meyers husband Nelson of Mercersburg, PA and Karen Lehman husband Wayne of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-mother, Martha (Martin) Denlinger.

Services will be held, 11:00 AM, Friday, April 15, 2022 in Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, 7041 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor John Melhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday morning in the church. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
