Marilyn L. (Jones) Diehl, 94, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, March 22, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 5, 1927 in Slatington, PA, she was a daughter of the late Evan E. Jones, Jr. and Lillian L. Jones. She was a 1945 graduate of the Slatington High School. Mrs. Diehl retired on September 18, 1999 from the former Holiday Inn where she had been employed as a banquet waitress for 25 years. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and a social member of VFW Post 1599 and AmVets Post 224 in Chambersburg.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 65 years, George C. Diehl; two daughters, Carol Foltz and husband Ed and Holly Pefley, all of Chambersburg; her granddaughter, Tara Foltz of St. Petersburg, FL; her grandson Jason Foltz (Nina) of Greenville, NC; two great-granddaughters, Clara and Macy Foltz; and two great-grandsons, Preston Piver and Drew Foltz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janet L. Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 27, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Caroline Saxton will officiate. The family will receive friends
from 2:00 PM until services begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
Private interment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
