Obituary for Linda Kay Reed
Linda Kay Reed, 72, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on August 6, 2022 at The Leland of Laurel Run. Born September 24, 1949 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel Robison Roof. Her beloved husband, Ray A. Reed, Sr., preceded her in death on March 6, 2007.
Linda was a 1967 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. Early in her life she operated a beauty parlor from her home. She later worked as a house keeper at the Travelodge in Chambersburg, and in the deli at Jane’s Market in Mercersburg and Sunnyway. Linda enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and cooking. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible.
She is survived by three children, Wendy Rollyson (husband Kelly) of Chambersburg, Bradley Hare (wife Tracey) of Orrstown, and Rene Shumaker (husband Brian) of Gardners; five grandchildren, Charles Propper II, Travis Edgar (wife Sara), Kyla Hare, Trevor Edgar, and Kendra Hare; three great grandchildren, Ava, Arik and Catalina; two siblings, Douglas Roof (wife Nancy) of Carlisle and Jill Hinkle of Houston, TX; nephew, David Hinkle (wife Kristi); and great nephew, Brooks Hinkle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
