Obituary for Linda J. Byers (Wenger)
Linda J. Byers, 79, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Luther Ridge. Born April 12, 1944 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth L. (Heisey) Wenger.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1962. Linda then attended Waynesboro Business School. She was employed as a chair side dental assistant for Dr. John Beall until her retirement June 2006.
Linda was a member of Mission Hill Church, formerly Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church where she played the organ and piano for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ethelbert Byers who she married July 14, 1963; two children, Jeffrey Byers and Judith Benner and her husband Daniel; two daughters-in-laws, Mary Byers and Jaqueline Newell and her husband Gary; seven grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Donald Frey and his wife Rose. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Gary Byers and sister, Brenda Frey.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 25, 2023 in Mission Hill Church, 465 Center Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201with Rev. Kevin Witter officiating. A committal service will be held, 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2023 in Air Hill Cemetery, 7041 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday morning in the church.
