Obituary for Lee Allen Young
Lee Allen Young , 67, of St. Thomas, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at home after a two year battle with cancer. Born on August 13, 1953 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Clyde and Wilma (Peckman) Young.
Lee was a graduate of James Buchanan High School. He was a skilled cabinet maker and operated his own business, Young’s Cabinet Shop, for 40 years. He was a member of the former Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church, now Mission Hill Church in Chambersburg where he served as an usher for many years. Lee enjoyed hunting, eating breakfast with friends, and bicycling.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy M. (Horst) Young; his sons, Kevin Young of Alexandria VA and Steve Young (Anna) of Annapolis, MD; his grandsons, Aden Young and Jack Young along with their mother Heidi; and his siblings Carol Gipe (Stan) and Tim Young (Debbie) of Chambersburg.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Mission Hill Church, 465 Center St., Chambersburg, with the Rev. Joel Gillman and the Rev. Roger Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, and one hour before the service at the church.
