Obituary for Larry B. Holtry
Larry Bruce Holtry, 71, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at his home. Born February 18, 1951, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Naomi Mae Swartz Holtry and the late Bruce Leroy Holtry.
Larry was a 1969 graduate of Shippensburg High School. He was employed as a Pattern Maker with Pangborn in Hagerstown, MD for 20 years. He was later employed at the DL Martin Co. in Mercersburg and lastly Mack Truck in Hagerstown until his retirement. He attended Ridge Church of the Brethren in Shippensburg. Larry enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, woodworking, and reading his bible. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Sue Baker Holtry, whom he married on October 6, 1979; two children, Joshua Paul Holtry (wife Ashley) of Fayetteville, and Jessica Lynn Jose (husband Trevor) of Lebanon; two granddaughters, Kaelynn and Rebecca Holtry; and his sister, Melody Mills (husband Harley) of McKnightstown.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Chaplain Todd Carver will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Homeland at Home, Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 270, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
