Obituary for Larry D. Heefner
Larry D. Heefner, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 22, 1946 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Levi and Hazel Mentzer Heefner.
Larry was a 1965 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School. He was employed at Landis Tool Company and Casting Technologies for over 30 years until his retirement. He then worked at Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe. He enjoyed drag racing, watching NASCAR and hunting and fishing in his younger years.
He is survived by two daughters, Dawn Heefner (James Raymond Raleigh III) and Sharon Weigle (Kenrick), both of Chambersburg; his sister, Betty Gearhart of Shady Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, Larry was preceded in death by five siblings, Jane Blair, Bonnie Crider, Joyce Gearhart, Dale Heefner and Clover Heefner.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will be in Quincy Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
