Obituary for Kerin P. "Mickey" Finn

Kerin P. “Mickey” Finn, 82, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 14, 1941 in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Daniel and Helen (Shea) Finn.

Following a year of college Mickey worked for the City of New York where he met his beloved wife, Diane M. (Brinkworth) Finn. He entered the US Naval Reserves where he served honorably. Mickey then took a tech position at Cape Canaveral followed by working on government contracts in Washington, DC. He and Diane moved to the Denver area where they both worked in the technology field. Mickey worked for IBM until they moved back east with Mickey again working in Washington, DC until retirement. After retiring, they moved to the community of Penn National.

Mickey was Irish through and through and was known for the unlimited stories he would tell describing his life and the life of his many relatives and old friends. As per the Irish in him, some of the tales were somewhat embellished a bit for the sake of making the mundane extremely exciting. His stories entertained everyone he met. He was a devoted member of the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg where he regularly participated in performing military honors for fellow veterans in the community. He was an accomplished musician born with the unusual talent of having “perfect pitch”.
In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by a sister, Deborah; niece, Colleen; sisters-in-law, Maureen and Susan; brother-in-laws William and James and his wife Mary, and many other relatives mostly in the Buffalo area. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Bartley and a sister, Moria.

Services will be announced at a later date for both Chambersburg and Buffalo areas. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
