Obituary for Kathleen Marie Maier
Kathleen Marie (Crosby) Maier, 56, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Born November 17, 1965 in New Brunswick, NJ she was the daughter of the late John J. and Jane R. (Murphy) Crosby.
She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. Kathy was employed as a registered nurse, working in various settings, including teaching nursing at the Franklin County Vo-Tech.
Kathy enjoyed exercising, yoga, arts and crafts, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and dogs. She had a true sense of adventure, never turning down an opportunity for a new experience. She had a soft spot for all animals in the world, and was a true environmentalist. She was a great friend and loved by everyone. Her illuminating smile will be missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Jonathan P. Maier; five children, Max Maier (Hawa) of Frederick, MD, Dylan Maier (Kathryn) of Chambersburg, PA, Mitchell Maier (Jenny) of Sedona, AZ, Owen Maier (Bianca) and Lydia Maier both of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Cru and Jack Maier; four siblings, Eileen Glynn (Patrick) of West Allenhurst, NJ, Maureen Brewster (Robert) of Westfield, NJ, Kevin Crosby (Mary Lynne) of The Woodlands, TX, and Thomas Crosby (Rachel) of Boonsboro, MD; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home.
