Obituary for Kate L. Hamilton (Limberg)
Kate L. Hamilton, 84, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Trude Limberg.
Kate was employed as an editor at the Public Opinion for over 40 years until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg and the Kiwanis Club. Kate loved gardening and enjoyed knitting and reading.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Brown (Lewis) and Brenda Walton, both of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Joshua Brown (Kristin), Matthew Brown and Tara Steinberger (Joseph); and four great grandchildren, Madison, Lucas, Alexandra and Juliette. In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her brother, Heintz Limberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 25, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. The Rev. Alan Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
