Obituary for Judith Ann Peiffer (Rock)
Judith Ann Peiffer, 85, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on November 26, 2022 at the home of her son, Darren Peiffer. Born October 7, 1937 in Quincy Twp., Franklin County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Vernon Rock and Anna Katherine Berger Rock. Her husband, Charles Vernon Peiffer, whom she married May 14, 1960, preceded her in death on October 2, 1978.
Judy was employed at the Stanley Company in her early life. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since her childhood where she served in many church callings. She enjoyed homemaking, gardening, singing, and bowling. However, her most cherished roles were that of mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her children Lynn Peiffer (Joan) and Darren Peiffer (Kathy) of Chambersburg, Lori Hansen (Joe) of Layton, UT, and Dawn Jorgensen (Matt) of West Jordan, UT; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and siblings Norma Ricker, Donna Brown, and Lamarr Rock. Aside from her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by siblings Vonnie Fields, Nancy Graver, and Brenda Rock.
A visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on December 1, 2022 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and a service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 2, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg. Bishop Dean Orr will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
