Obituary for Joyce S. Wildeson
Joyce S. Wildeson, age 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Shook Home. Born December 20, 1939, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin S. and Elverta Daywalt Bonner.
Mrs. Wildeson worked 20 years at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg; she then went on to work at the Chambersburg Hospital for 15 years until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, interior design, and sewing.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Donald E. Wildeson, whom she married on December 20, 1958, three daughters, Lori A. Baker (Clifford) of Chambersburg, PA, Karen S. Willner (Daniel) of Newport, WA, and Tracey L. Burkett (Mark) of Greencastle, PA; seven grandchildren; and three siblings, Bentz Bonner of Roxbury, PA, Saundra Chilcote (Mike) of Chambersburg, PA, and Willis Bonner (Peggy) of TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Goldie, Lawson, Glen, and Earnest.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 10 AM at Solomon’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4856 Wayne Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202, where Pastor Bill Nienstedt will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the above church and address.
