Obituary for Joseph T. Wible Sr.

Joseph T. Wible, Sr., 82, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 in York Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born April 17, 1940 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late James P. Wible, Sr. and Myrtle E. Taylor Wible. Mr. Wible served honorably with the US Army 36th Artillery Division. He had worked at the former Frick Company in Waynesboro and later retired from T. B. Woods Sons, Inc. in Chambersburg. He enjoyed collecting clocks; watching old movies; and going to yard sales.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Barndollar Wible, whom he married May 12, 1962; five children, Joseph T. Wible, Jr. and wife Trudy of McConnellsburg, David A Wible and wife Cynthia of Chambersburg, Kimberla K. Wise and husband Darryl of New Franklin, Tresa A. Bell and husband Thomas of Ewa Beach, HI, and Jo A. Walsh and husband Andrew J., III of Sharpsburg, MD; twelve grandchildren, Matthew Lee Wise, David Anthony Wible, Jr., Nathan Taylor Wise, Amanda Jo Ellen Wible, Tiffany Irean Wible Cubias, Christina Nichole Wible Brena, Steven Jospeh Wible, Sara Mae Wible, Alec Lloyd Bell, Amanda Dively, Wesley Dively, and Samantha Dively; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three siblings, James P. Wible, Jr., Lucille Wible Horst, and John Allen Wible. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa A. Divley on July 16, 2020; a brother, Hank Williams Keefer; and two sisters, Mary Adalene Wible Souders and Debra Kay Keefer Bookwalter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday May 13, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Lonnie Shover will officiate. Interment with military honors conducted by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
