Obituary for Jeffrey L. Cook

Jeffrey L. Cook, 69, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 30, 1953 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Charles William Cook, Sr. and Anna Margaret Cordell Cook. Jeff served honorably with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed from 1976 – 1981 at the former L.J. Allen Tire Company in Chambersburg. He then worked at Letterkenny Army Depot from 1981 until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, and the St. Thomas Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed boating, saltwater and freshwater fishing, and camping.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Baughman Cook, whom he married November 24, 1979; two sisters, Donna J. Hoffman of St. Thomas and Judy A. Wenger and husband Ronald of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles William “Bill” Cook, Jr.

The family will receive friend from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Members of George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM will conduct a Masonic service at 1:00 PM and interment will then follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens where military honors will be conducted by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
