Obituary for Helen L. Foreman (Skvarka)
Helen L. Foreman, 77, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at her home. Born August 6, 1943 in Robertsdale, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Skvarka, Sr. and Dorothy Thomas Skvarka. Her beloved husband, James Foreman, preceded her in death on January 8, 1994.
Helen was a 1963 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School. She spent most of her life making a home for her family. She was a faithful member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. Helen was a member of the Lutheran Home Care and Hospice Golf Tournament committee and was very active in several prayer chains. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, reading and music.
She is survived by her daughter, Jalene Ray and husband Randy of Chambersburg; her granddaughter, Miranda Ray of Chambersburg; and three siblings, Richard Skvarka and wife Sue of SC, Marilyn Weist and husband Dick of Breezewood, PA, and Theresa Minnick and husband Rich of Dudley, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by three siblings, Patricia Mort, Joseph Skvarka, Jr., and Carolyn Matthews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Rev. Richard Lyons and Rev. Robert Mentzer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
