Obituary for Harry J. "Joe" Fiddesop Jr.

Harry J. “Joe” Fiddesop, Jr., 65, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his home. Born June 2, 1955 in Hyattsville, MD, he was the son of the late Harry J. Fiddesop, Sr., and Ruth Smith Fiddesop.

A US Navy veteran, Joe served honorably during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a mechanic at various businesses in the area. He was a member of the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Co. #11, the former McKinley Street Volunteer Fire Co. #14, Shippensburg Volunteer Fire Co. #53 and the St. Thomas Volunteer Fire Co. #18. He enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, fishing, going to dirt track races, and building model cars.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Laurie A. Fiddesop, whom he married on June 10, 2000; eight children, Darren French (Jennifer) of Troy, NY, Allen Fiddesop of Chambersburg, Amanda Fiddesop of Chambersburg, Myla Fiddesop of Chambersburg, Averie Fiddesop of Chambersburg, Allen “AJ” Fiddesop II of Chambersburg, Cami Dougherty (Chad) of Chambersburg, and Britney Swain of St. Thomas; four grandchildren, Rylee Stull, Ruthie Stull, Lazaro Cardenas, Jr. and one grandson or granddaughter on the way; and his sister, Teresa Anderson of South Bend, IN. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Jordan.

Services will be private. Interment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Graveside military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
