Obituary for Harold "Mac or Jiggs" McMullen

Harold McMullen, 83, known to his family and friends as “Mac” or “Jiggs”, passed away Saturday morning at Providence Place in Chambersburg. Formerly of Greenvillage, he was born April 8, 1938 in Shade Gap to the late Franklin B. and Helen Snyder McMullen. Mac was a graduate of the Orbisonia High School and served honorably with the US Army as part of the Military Police. He later retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg. After retiring he worked part-time as a driver for Plasterer’s Florist and the Chambersburg Hospital. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing, running, and camping. He loved to sing and dance, and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Early in his life he volunteered with the Shade Gap Fire Company. He was a member of the George Washington Lodge #143 F&AM and a member and Past Worshipful Master of the former General James Chambers Lodge #801, both in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his partner of nearly 40 years, Elizabeth Diane McCoy; two daughters, Toni L. McMullen and husband Robert Martin of Albuquerque, NM and Amy Heckman and husband Mark of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Chase and Kendolynn Heckman; and his sister, Edith Miller of Shade Gap. He is also survived by his former spouse, Marion Shope College, whom he married June 16, 1962. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a four brothers, David, Donald, James, and Robert

Services and interment will be private.
