Gerald will be missed by the Alumni of STHS. I really appreciated his sense of humor & southern gentle man style.
He was definitely the MASTER of ceremony for our annual Alumni meeting. Unfortunately we were not able to hold it in 2020.
I have not seen Gerald for a year & did not realize he had been ill.He gave such excellent care for his wife & I know GOD provided him with loving ,caring people during his journey HOME.
My prayers of PEACE that only GOD can provide for the family as you remember your beloved GERALD, Barbara Andrews Brohawn class of 1960

About six years ago, I was approached about becoming a Sunday School teach for the Burton Men's Class at King Street Church. I wasn't sure I could do it, as I felt intimidated due to the fact the most men had been members BEFORE I was born. I finally agreed to do it and I am SO glad I did. Gerald Hamilton was class president and his warm, humorous and encouraging manner quickly put me at ease. For time, my wife volunteered in a Sunday School class for 3-5 year olds. Once a month, they would bring the kids to sing to the Burton Men. Often, Gerald would see to it that each kid would get a toy. Gerald will be missed!
