Freda E. Shoop, 98, formerly of Waterloo, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Aristacare at Woodland Park in Orbisonia, PA. Born January 1, 1921 in Waterloo, she was a daughter of the late T. Lynn and Mary Alice Gray Eaton. Mrs. Shoop attended school in Waterloo. During WWII she worked for the war effort at Letterkenny Army Depot while her husband served in the Philippines. They purchased a farm in the Waterloo area in 1948 and continued to farm the remainder of their working lives. She was a member of the Richvale United Methodist Church. Mrs. Shoop enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Her husband, David B. Shoop, whom she married July 17, 1940, preceded her in death on September 4, 2001.

She is survived by three sons, Bud L. Shoop and wife Helen of Port Royal, William B. Shoop and wife Pat of Augusta, WV, and Gerald D. Shoop and wife Anita of Waterloo; a daughter, Linda A. Burdge and husband Stephen of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, 589 Brick Church Road, East Waterford, PA. Rev. Darwin Goshorn will officiate. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
