Obituary for Florence Ritchey (Molchan)
Florence F. Ritchey, 85, of Marion, PA passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Born March 6, 1937 in Johnstown, she was a daughter of the late John and Fern Nedrow Molchan. She was Valedictorian of the graduating class of 1955 at Franklin-East Taylor Township Joint High School in Cambria County. Mrs. Ritchey was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of West Side Brethren In Christ Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by her husband, Duane P. Ritchey whom she married April 3, 1956; four children, Sherry Gelwicks and husband Keith of Marion, Mark Ritchey and wife Victoria of Chambersburg, Monica Burkholder and husband Douglas of Chambersburg, and Alison Holmes and husband Chuck of Marion; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Kurtis, Alex, Sharah, Randy, Kristin, Christian, and Austin; and five great-grandchildren, Camden, Hunner, Cameron, Brantley, and Karter. Also surviving are four siblings, Doris Dougherty and husband Harry, Dan Molchan and wife Edna, Nancy Book and husband George, and Dave Molchan and wife Deb; her brother-in-law, Ronald Ritchey and wife Wally; and her sister-in-law Delores Hagerich and husband Clair.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2023 at West Side Brethren In Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. W. David Kent will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon – 1:00 PM on Monday at the church.
