Obituary for Ernest Dawson Sr.
Mr. Ernest Dawson, Sr., 79, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Laurel Lakes Wellness Center. Born December 28, 1940 in Bartow, FL he was the son of the late Rebecca Baker.
He was employed as a welder for many years at Grove Manufacturing. After retiring from Grove, Mr. Dawson was employed in maintenance at Letterkenny Army Depot. He enjoyed fixing computers and cheering on the Miami Dolphins.
Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife, Catherine J. “Jackie” (Marks) Dawson; ten children, Ernest Dawson, Jr., George Hobbs, Catherine Kelly, Janice Dawson all of Florida, David Kelly, Terri Grant, Malachi “Douglas” Dawson, Lawrence Dawson, Matt Marks, and Ebony Marks all of Pennsylvania; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as his close friend, Jay Koons.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by three siblings, Wanda Baker, Willie James Maxwell and Rudolph Baker.
Services will be held 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Mr. Jeff Jones officiating. CDC social distancing and mask requirements will be in place.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning in the funeral home.
