Obituary for Edward F. Kazinski

Edward F. Kazinski, 87, of Chambersburg, died peacefully, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. Born March 28, 1935 in Plymouth, PA, he was the son of the late John and Julia Killian Kazinski. His beloved wife of 56 years, Lorraine S. (Wegrzynowicz) Kazinski, preceded him in death on July 6, 2017.

Ed graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952. He worked at Atwater Throwing Mill in Wilkes Barre, PA and enlisted in the USAF in 1955. After Basic Training in NY, he attended Communications Training in Wyoming and Cryptographic school in Illinois. He was stationed at Chicksands, Bedfordshire England. He was honorably discharged in 1959. Ed began working at Letterkenny Army Depot in 1961 as a computer specialist. He was Project Officer for Dialon Computer System Linking 32 Depots, Project Officer for Computer Line Interface (CLI) in Autodin system and was Project Officer in IBM customer information control system (CICS) before retiring in 1991.

Ed loved baseball and played in High School, Air Force and Semi-pro. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles. He attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Grand Point Church. Ed’s priority was God, Wife and Children, in that order.

He is survived by his children, David Kazinski of Chambersburg, Susan Hanson (and husband, Eric) of Glen Rock, PA, Michael Kazinski (and wife, Denise) of Chambersburg, and Kevin Kazinski, also of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren, Justin, Mikayla, Kierra (husband Jacob), John, Annika, Ryan and Brady; two great grandchildren, Brooke and Jack; brother, Robert Kazinski (and wife, Cindy) of Larksville, his sisters-in-law, Katherine Kazinski of York, Pa; Mary Ann Pistack of Wilkes Barre; Marianne Wegrzynowicz of Jermyn, PA; as well as many other family members and friends. Aside from his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother John Kazinski.

A memorial service to honor Ed’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Rev. Lawrence Metzler will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Corpus Christi Cemetery where Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard.
