Remembering Doug and all the great times we had together. He was a great friend one of the hardest working athletes I ever had the pleasure to swim with. My deepest sympathies go out to all of you.

I was blessed to have known Doug after my husband and he became good friends years ago when they met at Target. Doug was genuinely a great person and fun to be around. I am so glad that our families got to share memories together such as going camping in Gettysburg, an Easter Egg Hunt at Boyd's Bear Country, our daughters were in Girl Scouts, and our daughter was always welcomed as part of the family when she would come to their home. I smile every time I think of the phone calls when my husband and Doug would call each another - both of them would speak excessively loud and there was never a question of who was on the other end of the phone. Many priceless memories of which we will always cherish. Doug had a big heart and absolutely loved and dedicated himself to his family. He will truly be missed and I extend my love and prayers of comfort to his family. Tammy Smith
