Obituary for Dorothy I. Zullinger (Diehl)
Dorothy I. Zullinger, 96, of Chambersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill, PA. Born May 12, 1926 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Hazel Myers Diehl. Her beloved husband, Orville W. Zullinger, preceded her in death on September 15, 2008.
Dorothy dedicated her life to making a home for her family. She was a member of Orrstown United Brethren Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by two children, Darlene F. Wenger and husband Alvin of Chambersburg, and Rodney D. Zullinger and wife Penny of Millerstown; thirteen grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys R. Horst of Shippensburg; daughter-in-law, Donna Zullinger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by four sons, Larry, Richard, Robert and Orville Zullinger, Jr.; and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Dorothy’s grandson, Jason Wenger, will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
