Dorothy Ann Kopas, age 91, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at
Paramount Senior Living. Born in Newark, NJ on December 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late
Russell and Catharine (Cump) Hause.
Dorothy, also known as “Dot” to her friends, worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for 20 years, retiring in
1990. She enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, playing her piano, and gardening. Dorothy had a love
for animals, including her Andy, Teddy, Midnight, Daisy, and Honey.
Surviving are two children, Carol Harkcom (Larry) of Chambersburg, PA, and Michael Pittenger (partner
Lori Shoop) of Fayetteville, PA; six grandchildren, Wendy Buckwalter (Gregg), Tracey Johnson (Tim), Kelly
Harkcom, Larry Harkcom (Sarah Ehle), Michael Pittenger, and Josh Pittenger (Mandy); and ten great-
grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Pittenger, and her
husband, William Kopas.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel
Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior
to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment at Corpus Christi Cemetery will follow the
service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the National Down
