Obituary for Donald Swan

Donald Swan, 71, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Friday, September 23, 2022. Born March 29, 1951 in Chambersburg he was the son of the late Ralph and Sarah Swan.

He was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. Following high school Don served with the United States Marines during Vietnam. He then went on to serve in the Army Reserves and Air National Guard. Don was employed as an estimator at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg until his retirement in 2011.

He was very active in the community belonging to the Orrstown Lodge #262, Orrstown, PA; previous member and past master of George Washington Masonic Lodge 143 and General James Chamber Lodge #801; the Widows Sons Marked & Hewn Chapter; the Marine Corps; American Legion Post 42; and the Moose Lodge all in Chambersburg. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Swan; two daughters, Katrina Farrance (Chad) and Dee Himes (Randy); two step-children, Tracey Rexroad and Benny Leonard; four brothers, David Swan (Junita), Denny Swan (Tina), Ken Swan (Connie) and John Swan (Dee); two sister, Linda Swan and Pam Swan; four grandchildren, Paige and Delaney Himes and Quinn and Easton Farrance; a step-granddaughter, Marchell Milburn; two step-great-grandsons, Trenton and Jaxson Milburn; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2022 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Emmitt Banzhoff officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Orrstown Lodge #262 and Widows Sons Marked & Hewn Chapter to start the service at 1:00 PM. Military honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg following the service in the funeral home parking lot.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday afternoon in the funeral home.
