Obituary for Donald L. Strike
Donald L. Strike Sr., 75, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Menno Haven, following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 3, 1946, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry and Marie Hoch Strike. Don and his wife, the former Judy Stumbaugh, were married Oct. 27, 1966.
A 1964 graduate of Chambersburg Area High School, he joined the Army National Guard later that year, serving for six years.
Don was a loyal employee of T.B. Woods where he worked for 40 years. He also was a talented woodworker. Don was a member of King Street Church.
He was a loving husband and father who always put family first. Surviving are his wife, Judy Strike; five children and their partners: Kerri Strike-Stahller and Teri Stahller, Nicole Strike and Tammy Harman, Donna Kimzey-Strike and Laurie Kimzey-Strike, Tyler Strike, and Jonathan Strike and Erin Strike; eight grandchildren: Ray, Austin, Bobby, Halie, Rylee, Nathan, Ava, and Jameson; a niece, Susan Shadle Erb and Father Ed Erb, and great-nephews, Philip Erb and Andrew Erb.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a son, Donny Jr.; his sister, Janet Shadle, and brother-in-law, Eugene Shadle.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Chapel in Brookview Healthcare Center, 1000 Northfield Drive, Chambersburg, PA. Reverend Ronald Cook and Chaplin Lori Witmer will officiate. There will be a private family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to King Street Church, 56 North Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L.
