Obituary for Charles William Decker Jr.

Charles William Decker, Jr., 90, of Chambersburg, PA, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on September 12, 2022 at Chambers Pointe Healthcare Center. Born on January 23, 1932 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Charles W. Decker, Sr. and Anna Mae Ross Decker. Charles was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He served his country in the US Navy from 1951–1955 and in the US Air Force from 1955-1971. After 20 years in the military he became a real estate broker, residential builder, county and state certified building and electrical inspector, and owner/operator of TV sales and repair business.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Summers Decker; daughters Ardith Young and Michelle Decker; son Daniel Decker, Sr.; sisters Gladys Messersmith, Ruth Mead, and Verna Garrison; and his step-mother, Dorothy Robinson Decker.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Hall Decker; his son, Charles William Decker, III; his half-sister, Kay Decker Raup; and his grandchildren, Heather and Anthea Young, P.J., Paul, and Andrew Stamey, and Daniel and Lindsey Decker; and four great-grandchildren, Devon, Shane, Brooklyn, and Kamdyn.

A Celebration of Life Service at Chambersburg Baptist Church, 741 South Coldbrook Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17021 will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Inurnment with military honors will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Cheltenham Veteran’s Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
