Obituary for Catherine M. Forster Karvois

Catherine passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 1, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Matilda Forster. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of over 48 years, Joseph J. Karvois.
Born in Mahanoy City, PA to a hard-working coal miner and his equally hardworking wife, Catherine is the last of her immediate family. After marrying the love of her life, Joseph, they moved to Baltimore, MD in 1950. A stay-at-home mom, she worked hard every day making wonderful meals ~ including her “world famous” Crab Imperial ~ tending to the vegetable garden, making clothes, draperies ~ you name it. She was the consummate homemaker! Catherine added joyful song to the home by playing the piano and singing. Moving to Chambersburg in 1978, Catherine and Joe enjoyed travelling to the Middle East and elsewhere with the AARP Falling Spring Chapter, Young at Heart, Mall Walkers and other area groups. They most especially loved dancing the nights away together at the Elks and VFW! Catherine belonged to numerous ladies lunch groups most notably founding The Foxy Ladies, a chapter of The Red Hat Society, where she resided as queen for 10 years.
She is survived by Nancy (Brian) Lockman, Paul (Bonnie) Karvois, Trina (Dennis) Black; two granddaughters Kimberly (Patrick) Dronne and Kathleen Lockman; grandsons Michael and Marc (Jess) Castellano, devoted great-grandson Tristan Black and special great granddaughter, Olivia Castellano along with her adoring grand pets Douglas, Skippy and Max.
Catherine is preceded in death by brothers, William, Joseph, Charles, Harry, James and Gerald and sisters, Agnes, Geraldine and Mildred.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 4 PM in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, 305 N. Prince St., Shippensburg, PA 17257, where Rev. Fr.
