Obituary for Carol A. Hess (Frey)
Carol A. (Frey) Hess, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Friday September 25, 2020 at the age of 79. Born September 20, 1941 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Edith M. (Hock) Frey.
A 1959 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, she went on to work at the Letterkenny Army Depot as a secretary for 30 years before her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Chambersburg First Church of God where she was in the church choir for over 20 years. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching gameshows, and had a love of birds. Carol loved the Lord, her children and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Hess; children Julie Clopper (husband Jeff), of Chambersburg,PA Jerry Foreman (wife Linzi) of Troy,IL and Jana Foreman (friend Tim Silvetti), of Chicago , IL ; 7 grandchildren, Janelle, Joel, Jordan, Ben, Casey, Luke and Kenzi; 3 great-grandchildren Christian, Gage, and Lacey; her brother, Donald Frey, of NC; and niece, Dawn Hicks.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 12:30 PM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Don Drury will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
