Obituary for Betsy Rotz Marcavitch
Betsy Rotz Marcavitch, 84, passed away on July 21, 2022 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Skilled Nursing Home in Chambersburg, PA. Born October 22, 1937 in Chambersburg, Betsy was the daughter of the late Sarah Elizabeth and Jacob Howard Bitner.
In addition to her parents, Betsy was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Rotz, her son Timothy Rotz,second husband Gerald Marcavitch, her brother Richard Bitner and her sister Joanne Bowman.
Prior to her retirement, Betsy worked as an Assistant Administrator at the Shook Home nursing facility in Chambersburg. Betsy will be fondly remembered for her cooking and baking skills, especially the dozens of cookies during the holiday season.
Betsy is survived by her daughter Beth Ann Rotz Mattern, and Beth’s husband Dennis; her sisters Phyllis Brehm (husband Jere), Susie Farner, her brother Jerry Bitner; her daughter-in-law Vicki Rotz; her beloved grandson Jacob; her nieces and nephews; Gerald’s daughter Debra (husband Mike), and Gerald’s grandchildren (Maria, Mark, Kris).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Amy Wagner will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
