Obituary for Anthony Scott "Tony" Hamilton

Anthony “Tony” Scott Hamilton, beloved father, husband, and son passed away Friday, January 1, 2021, at the age of 62.
Tony is survived by his wife, Kathy Hamilton; his children, Michael Hamilton (Laconia, NH), Jennifer Hamilton-Padilla wife of Erick Padilla (Garland, TX), Kelly Hamilton (San Antonio, TX), and Leslie Hamilton (Urbana, IL); and his parents, Jennings and Shirley (Wolfe) Hamilton (Hurricane, WV). He is predeceased by his sister, Yvonne Hamilton.
Tony was born September 14, 1958, in Charleston, West Virginia. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and went on to earn his degree as a Registered Nurse. For over 35 years he worked in many aspects of nursing where he loved caring for patients and excelled in IV starts, assessments and diagnosis. On April 4, 1987, he married Kathy, also a Registered Nurse and the love of his life. On November 15, 1989, they welcomed their son Michael followed by their daughters Jennifer on August 22, 1991, and Kelly on February 15, 1995. They were his greatest blessings, proudest accomplishments, and most important part of his life.
Tony was a devoted father and lover of new experiences. Alongside his wife, he was his kids’ biggest cheerleader and loved to watch them play sports where he often stepped up as a coach. Tony was active in the community at the YMCA where he organized bike rides, officiated swim meets, and participated in the donut fundraiser as well as Trinity Lutheran Church where he was best known for the Seder Meal and Christmas Dinner participation. He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people through his visits to all 50 states. He also completed 2 Iron Man Triathlons and enjoyed many hobbies including shooting sporting clays, fishing, golfing, cooking, bird watching, and geology/archeology. He was a nurturing animal lover as he raised chickens, rabbits, fish, and dogs (Leo, Buster, Joey, and grand-dogs Luna and Jameson). Tony had a kind heart, gave great hugs, and was always the first person to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have known him.
